The meadow spreads to an area of about 50 acres and attracts all nature-lovers with its bounty. The visiting season starts by June. One or two weeks after summer-rain, the grass starts sprouting and the hillock grows beautiful. We can approach the hill up to half a km by vehicle. Trekking from the foot of the hill, we can conquer the peak in half an hour. From the peak, we get a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding landscape. The most beautiful point to relax on Peruvnmala is under Almavu – a grouping of ficus and mango tree. One can spent hours under the tree watching the panoramic distant views.

Another attraction of Peruvanmala is the presence of a beautiful flowering herb “Kannamthali” (Exacum bicolor). It is an endangered species belonging to the family Gentianaceae. The plant sprouts along with grass and starts blooming in August. The flower has four petals with a cream-coloured tip. It is in full bloom during the Onam season (August-September) and extends to January. The plants in full bloom amidst the grass are an amazing sight.
