The palace is a main example of the traditional architectural style of Kerala and also one of the best place among Palakkad sightseeing attractions. Also exhibited are temple models, palm leaf manuscripts, megaliths etc. Most of the exhibits here were recovered from the forests of Thrissur and Wayanad.
